Day 15 - At sea (Saturday)

Third and final longest stretch of sea days on this trip. I've really enjoyed the size of the crowd on the ship. I've not once felt crowded or had to look for a chair to lounge around the ship or around the centrum. The mega ships may have extra features but that comes with an additional 1500+ more people.

This morning is the first of two qualification rounds of Top Chef-style competition of non-chef staff. Top two people continue on to the finals. Today the contestants come from Purchasing, Security, Engineering, and Staff Services. The task - make a salad for the judges. In the end there was one clear winner but a tie for second which required a tie-breaker.
The stage is set
Even the real chefs are proud
And the competition begins
Quite the interest from the cruisers
Making a meal in heels
Fresh salad dressing being prepared
Chef 1 decided to make three different salads, one for each judge
Chef 2
Chef 3 (crowd favorite)
Chef 4 asked for each judge to sign some paperwork before eating
Adding up all the official tally sheets. Winner is Chef 4. Tie between 2 and 3
Tie-breaker! Chop an onion into even pieces
Judge 3 was cut - decided to use a small knife which created uneven cuts

One thing this boat does well is the buffet. Food has been pretty good with a very wide selection of options. At night they present an amazing cheese and charcuterie offering. It's been so good I've skipped main dinning and just feasted off of it.

Tomorrow, Bali
